Synopsis

Scent of Pho (Mùi Phở) was shot in Nam Dinh province, widely considered the birthplace of Vietnamese pho, and its primary setting was filmed in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
Lead actor Xuan Hinh is renowned in Vietnam as the “King of Northern Comedy.” HIs 2025 music video “Bắc Bling” is a viral sensation with nearly 300M views on YouTube. It debuted #1 on YouTube’s Top Debut Songs and peaked at #2 on the YouTube global music video ranking, alongside Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.
Scent of Pho (Mùi Phở) features a grand pho festival sequence, showcasing the preparation process from ingredient selection and broth simmering to final presentation highlighting the cultural beauty and spirit of preserving traditional craft.
The film’s OST, Scent of Memories (Mùi Ký Ức), performed by director Minh Beta, features pentatonic melodies infused with Northern Vietnamese folk influences.
Internationally renowned producer Christian Dinh Gulino, who has worked with global artists such as Sam Smith and Jessie J, contributed to the film’s music. He produced Rap Phở for Scent of Pho (Mùi Phở), blending modern rap with Xuân Hinh’s distinctive xẩm performance.
